After witnessing a huge fall in Covid- 19 cases, lockdown in UttarPradesh has been lifted in 6 more districts including Prayagraj.
UP Lifts lockdown
According to the latest reports, the six districts where the lockdown has been lifted are Prayagraj, Bijnor, Moradabad, Deoria, Baghpat, and Sonbhadra.
The lockdown will be lifted in the remaining districts only when less than 600 active cases will be recorded, said UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing a press conference.
“Curfew will remain in districts that have more than 600 active COVID-19 cases for one more week. When active cases will come under 600 the curfew will stop automatically. We have loosened restrictions in 55 districts from 7 am to 7 pm,” Adityanath said on Sunday.
Lockdown extended for the rest of the districts
The UP government had initially imposed lockdown till May 31. However, the same has been prolonged to those districts which have been reporting more than 600 active cases.
According to the data shared by Adityanath, the state currently has the lowest fatality rate, lowest positivity rate, and the highest recovery rate in the country. This Sunday, Uttar Pradesh recorded 1,900 COVID-19 cases and 41,000 total active cases.
“Uttar Pradesh has registered 1900 COVID cases today. The active cases stand at 41,000. We have the lowest fatality rate in the country, lowest positivity rate, and highest recovery rate,” he further said.
