After this incident, the video went viral, with both the PM’s supporters and critics yelling out feelings.
There was also a political response, mainly the opposition who are calling it a “drama” or “crocodile tears”.
Rahul Gandhi hits back
Amongst them was Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who on Saturday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the government’s approach to the coronavirus pandemic amid Secon Wave.
“No Vaccines. Lowest GDP. Highest Covid deaths… GOI’s response? PM cries,” he said in a tweet. While also accusing PM Modi of dropping “crocodile tears” while paying allegiance to people who died of COVID-19.

“Crocodiles are innocent,” said the Congress leader in another tweet, in a dig at the Prime Minister turning emotional during his digital interaction with doctors in his Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi on Friday.
Crocodiles are innocent.

After Mr. Gandhi, two more senior Congress leaders, P Chidambaram and Jairam Ramesh joined him.
