Team India heading to Sri Lanka for limited-overs cricket had gathered in Mumbai after which they left for the island nation.
Team India all set for the Sri Lanka tour
Newly-appointed skipper Shikhar Dhawan, along with the Indian team on Monday boarded the flight to Sri Lanka. The team has several new faces and will play a three-match ODI series, starting from July 13, followed by as many T20Is. It is intended that all the matches will be played at Colombo’s R Premadasa stadium.
Earlier, the team had gathered in Mumbai after which they were under a 2-week quarantine. Before taking off to Sri Lanka, the players gathered for a team photograph.
The BCCI on Monday shared the team picture with a caption that read, “All SET! Sri Lanka bound #TeamIndia #SLvIND”

Debutants
A total of six fresh faces – Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Krishnappa Gowtham, Chetan Sakariya, Varun Chakravarthy, and Nitish Rana – have been added to the squad. Shikhar Dhawan taking the charge as captain, pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been named his deputy. Also, former captain, Rahul Dravid has been named the head coach of the team.

Before leaving for Sri Lanka, the coach and captain spoke about the youngsters in the team who will be fighting for a place in the T20 World Cup later this year.
“All of them in this squad will be fighting for their places or looking to cement their places in the World Cup coming up, but I think the key for everyone in the squad and talents in the team…is to try and win the series,” Dravid said.
