Congress former president and MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ventilators saying both have failed in their respective jobs.
PM Care ventilators
The Congress leader’s jibe comes over reports implying that ventilators acquired by the centre with PM CARES fund are unused because of technical glitches.
“There’s a lot common between PMCares ventilator and the PM himself: too much false PR, don’t do their respective jobs, nowhere in sight when needed!” Mr Gandhi tweeted.

The reports suggest that ventilators bought with PM CARES funds are provided to a hospital in Punjab’s Faridkot, It is observed that they have been left unused because of technical glitches. The centre, however, has dismissed all reports, calling them “baseless” and claiming it as the lack of infrastructure at the Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital that caused the situation.
It is reported that the ventilators were provided by Bharat Electronics Limited and AgVa.
Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has requested an urgent review of the process of installing and operating the ventilators and directed healthcare workers to be properly trained, if needed.
Mr. Gandhi’s frequent attack on Govt
Since the beginning of the 2nd wave in India, Rahul Gandhi has been constantly attacking the government over the pandemic management problems.
GOI’s disastrous vaccine strategy will ensure a devastating third wave.
It can’t be repeated enough- India needs a proper vaccine strategy!

On Sunday he slammed Prime Minister for “going missing”.
“The Prime Minister is also missing, with vaccines, oxygen, and medicines. All that remains is the Central Vista project, GST on medicines, and the Prime Minister’s photos here and there,” he tweeted.
वैक्सीन, ऑक्सीजन और दवाओं के साथ PM भी ग़ायब हैं।
बचे हैं तो बस सेंट्रल विस्टा, दवाओं पर GST और यहाँ-वहाँ PM के फ़ोटो।

On the latest allegations, he along with a group of his colleagues and leaders of other parties hit out at the Centre over reports of several people being arrested in Delhi for supposedly putting up posters critical of the government’s handling of the Covid crisis.
“Arrest me too,” Mr. Gandhi tweeted today along with the “white Hindi words on black background” poster that led to the arrests.
Arrest me too.
मुझे भी गिरफ़्तार करो। pic.twitter.com/eZWp2NYysZ

The poster read: “Modi Ji, why did you give vaccines meant for our children, abroad?”
